Why Cant You Just Accept That Its The Truth!
by The wanderer in<!-- .style1 { font-family: verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; } .style2 { font-size: 22px; font-family: verdana, arial, sans-serif; color: #990000; } .style3 { font-family: verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 18px; color: #990000; } --> why cant you just accept that its the truth!problems occur in the jehovahs witness world when an individual decides to think for him or herself.
personally, i suffered a great deal in the truth because of independent thinkingthinking like satan.. what about youre experiences?as a witness, did you feel doubts or questions come into your mind and if you dared, .
voiced your opinion on the matter, were you disciplined for it?

"independent" thinking—thinking like Satan.
dependent thinking---robotic trembling at men
independent thinking(no "quotes")---using our God-given intelligence, remember, we are created in His image.
As a Witness, did you feel doubts or questions come into your mind and if you dared,
voiced your opinion on the matter, were you "disciplined" for it? Did you suffer in silence
just to "save face" or did you conform just to avoid problems?Yes I had doubts and questions, and I dared voice them at JW parties, meetings, field service, etc. I was approached by numerous elders, had meetings(non-JC) with them, proving my points using the Scriptures. I was disciplined (private reproof), not for that, but for smokin' a stogie (also no Scriptural prohibition there)! I refused to suffer in silence. I always proved my points using the Scriptures. And then I left when I saw they were not interested in the Scriptures, but rather, teachings of men, the WTBTS publications. They ignore God's Word and instead tremble at men. They came after me 19 months after I left the borg, for one reason- so my ex-wife could remarry "scripturally"!
What a mind-control, high control cult the JW's truly are!
Sincerely,
BA
PS- Cheer up..

This board is not for me.
by Wafe inwhen i came to this board, i thought that it was for encouragement amoung people who had been treated badly by the wtbts, i did not understand that people were going to come here and bash god, his son and the bible.
i could understand some embitterment over religion but some of you people are down right insulting.
not to mention the fact that i have tried to contact others on the board and have had my messages ignored.. .

HS,
Lord above, many posters think that I am a woman because I chose to name myself after a mountain outcrop!
Not I- I surmise you at least claim to be male. Who says cheerleaders can't be male, you certainly are!
In the past you have described me, among other things, me as an insecure neurotic, and I have described you as a vain and self-important windbag. These are assumptions made on the words we write, but I am sure that in real life neither of us fit these descriptions, though given the length of this post maybe a label switch is due.
Here's prime hilarious hillary the cheerleader- physician, heal thyself! You cast aspersions at others, and you clearly believe them- you stated it, so it must be true, right? Yet, when others such as my self make statements about how we picture you, you take it all too seriously!
In all seriousness, though, the rest of your points in the above posts are good ones, even though they're not really yours are they?
Just kidding- I'm sure you're not the neurotic monkey-spawned cheerleader your posts would seem to suggest.
BA- Can't we all just play nice?
PS- Now let's get back to the fun stuff, calling names and insulting intelligence, mmmK?

What's the difference between humans and animals if there is no God

Brother Apostate
If there is no God, does this make us the most intelligent Animal?
Never seen an animal grill burgers on the bbq grill!
BA- finally, proof of God's existence!

100. Mass suicide.
Out of 100 signs of the JW's being a cult, they haven't yet practiced Mass Suicide.Just individual suicide by refusing blood.
They couldn't possibly be a cult then, could they?
BA- Just askin'
PS- Knows the answer.

His energy bill is $0.00
by Brother Apostate ini just read about a guy in nj who lives in the nation's first solar-hydrogen house.
the technology this civil engineer has been able to string together solar panels, a hydrogen fuel cell, storage tanks, and a piece of equipment called an electrolyzer provides electricity to his home year-round, even on the cloudiest of winter days:.

TopHat,
That is interesting. Given the incentives offered by builders and tax breaks, as the article points out, payback could be as little as 10 years, or less if energy prices rise.
Not bad looking, either:
PowerLight stock) as well as the product itself! BA

Everybody who commented made some good points:
At this stage of the game, even if you factor in selling surplus power back to the utilities, it is still cost prohibitive.
I'm not a realtor or appraiser (I did take the classes, just never bothered to get licensed), but from what I learned, this sort of investment in getting off the grid would, if anthing, be very hard to appraise, so I doubt it would add substantially to the sale price of the property. Probably the best case for adding value here would be to figure utility costs saved over the life (say, 20yrs) of the home, minus the cost of maintenance and repairs over the same time period, so probably not much value.
I'd say the answer to Sad emo's question, at least partly, is due to the wild extremes of temperature fluctuations here in the US- so air conditioning as well as heating costs are much more than in the much less extreme UK.
I know from experience that at least in this neck of the woods, what sells folks on alternative energy schemes is a return on investment (ROI) of 3-6 years. That's what is typical of geothermal cooling and heating, which is becoming popular around here.
So, if this example mentioned in NJ is indeed a prototype, it would have to come down to around $35,000 to $70,000 to be marketable.
I assume PEC's comment was tongue in cheek, as that turns out to be the equivalent of 36.5 fifty gallon drums of "free" frier oil a month. Imagine having to go get that stuff, haul it over to the generator, and feed the generator constantly, not to mention finding that much fryer oil, and the maintenance! Good one, PEC!
Good suggestions on saving energy from Jim_TX and anewme, as well!
Efficiency is still an issue, as Brent R pointed out, as well as affordabilty.
And, of course, as OUTLAW pointed out, when I achieve world domination, it will all be a moot point anyway, as you'll all owe me!!!! <INSERT EVIL LAUGHTER HERE>
Good points, keep 'em comin!!
Cheers,
BA
PS- here's to hoping this stuff becomes more efficient, more affordable, and reliable in the near future!

I just read about a guy in NJ who lives in the nation's first solar-hydrogen house. The technology this civil engineer has been able to string together – solar panels, a hydrogen fuel cell, storage tanks, and a piece of equipment called an electrolyzer – provides electricity to his home year-round, even on the cloudiest of winter days:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/csm/20070315/ts_csm/chydro
Sounds great, however, the price tag, according to the news- "The total cost, $500,000, was paid for in part with a $250,000 grant from the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities."
Imagine paying $500,000 per house to get it off the grid. Even at a whopping average of $1,000/month in electrical utilty bills, it would take almost 42 years to cost-justify! That's without factoring in maintenance and replacement as the system wears out!
What are your thoughts on the pros and cons of getting off the grid?

Your Opinion Wanted-What should really be done to child molesters?
by avidbiblereader ini have not tried to hide my past as a victim of this, but this is always an area that i have to fight my personally feelings as to what should be done to child molesters.
they ruin lives, scar an individual for a lifetime!.
should they be incarcerated for life, castrated, turned over to the family member(s), public humiliation like a branding everywhere they go, tortured and or death penality?.
